William Obediah Beene Family

Ida Bell died about a year later in the 1918 flu epidemic.

Reuben Raymond Beene, Dixon Franklin Beene, William Russell Beene, and James Lafayette Beene were the children of William Obediah Beene and his first wife Lucy Ann Welch.  Their daughter, Mary Inez Beene died young, even before her mother died.

Drue Foster, Ethel Foster, and Bertha Lee Foster were the children of Ida Bell Gilliam Foster Beene by her first husband David Foster.  Two of their children, Nema Foster and Herman Foster died young, before this photo was made.

Nina Lorene (known as Lorene), Addie Arizona, Ida May, Aaron Obediah, and Lula Ruth (known as Ruth) were the children of William Obediah Beene and Ida Bell Gilliam Foster Beene.

After the death of Ida Bell Gilliam Foster Beene in the 1918 flu epidemic, William Obediah Beene married Lethia Ann Pipkin Ray, widow of Felix Lafayette Ray.  She was already the mother of Sam Bennie Ray, Sr., Addie Mae Ray, Covie Lafayette Ray, Clarence Elwin Ray, Sr., and Annie Lou Ray.   Together, William Obediah Beene and Lethia Ann Pipkin Ray Beene had two more children, Walter Neel Beene and Bobbie Louise Beene.
