"He served a year in the Confederate Army in Capt. Ingram's Company of Arkansas Infantry, and was at Little Rock when it was captured."
"A record roll of Company F. 44th Alabama Infantry Regiment, C.S.A. shows that David F. Trucks enlisted in that organization on March 14, 1862 , in Bibb County, Ala. with the grade of Private. He was born in Ala., a farmer by occupation, gave his address as Six Mile, Ala., was 28 years of age, married. He was present at the Battle of Suffolk, Virginia, May 3, 1863, and was mortally wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg, July 2, 1863 and died July 8, 1863. His widow Mrs. Catherine Trucks, of Six Mile, Alabama, filed a death claim." See Gettysburg Photos.

His widow, Mrs. Jane B. Trucks, filed a death claim."

He was born in Ala., a farmer by occupation, a resident of Six Mile, Ala., age 24 years, married. He was mortally wounded at the Battle of Sharpsburg, Maryland, September 17, 1862, and died October 10, 1862, in hands of the enemy. His widow, Mrs. Appy C. Trucks, filed a death claim."
