Unknown who is the mother of William Trux, Sr.'s children, but it is probable most belong to Mehitable McCoy. Many thanks to Lyn Moore for providing a great deal of information on these families, especially for correcting a fundamental error involving a mix up between George Joseph Trucks and his nephew of the same name.  This is a work in progress and corrections and additions are always welcome!

Some have believed that George Joseph Trucks, son of William Trux, Sr., died around 1810 or so, because research on the Pettibone line would indicate this.  Ester Pettibone remarried about 1810 and had at least five more children.  It would seem that George Joseph Trucks "divorced" Ester, went to TN, and married Sarah Johnson about 1812.  His son went to TN with him and later moved to MS, but his daughters from his first marriage remained with their mother.   Apparently, his own family may have believed that he had died. The Pettebone family was also in Luzerne Co, PA early on.
