This is a tentative placement for Solomon Walker Peek, Sr. His probable birth date, given in memorial written into the minutes of Boiling Springs Primitive Baptist Church, is five years before the marriage date given for William Peek and Elizabeth Shockley. Another researcher believes William Peek is a brother of Solomon Walker Peek, Sr., not his father.  This is not impossible, but if so, the parents, George Peek and Elizabeth Spencer, would have been about 51 years old at Solomon's probable birth date.

Solomon Walker Peek is not mentioned in "North Carolina Mountain Peeks and Their Descendants" by Lawrence Fobes, but the author does make a point of saying the book is primarily about the NC, Hayes Run Peeks and not the ones who moved to Georgia! 

Dr. Reba Neighbors Collins, who has done extensive research on the Peeks, notes that much general info on early Virginia lines has been listed, but not proven. The North Carolina Peeks are thought to have immigrated to NC from VA, but it is not known for sure where they came from before that, and how they may be related to still earlier Peeks.
